In 2006, 5,000 people left Baltimore.
Baltimore's population continued to decline slightly, from 636,377 in 2005 to 631,366 last year, according to estimates. The city has lost 19,788 people since the 2000 census, about 3 percent of its population. But the figures confirm a trend that the city's decades-long population losses are slowing.
The only major metropolitan areas that suffered a greater population loss were Detroit and Boston.
Once again Detroit beats us!
