I found these pamphlets in pad form at the counter of my local 7-11 (corner of Falls Rd. and 36th St.).
Phillip Morris and 7-11 sure love their customers. Well, the ones that smoke. They're looking out for you, because see, they want to sell you cheaper cigarettes, you know those things you're addicted to that are killing you? Those things. They want them to stay cheap.
After all, it's unfair to raise taxes on smokers, poor, disenfranchised smokers who NEED those cigarettes thanks to all those cancer-causing toxins companies like Phillip Morris put in their products to keep you addicted.
"Everyone should pay their share of taxes - but it's unfair to single out smokers once again for a 156% tax increase."
Wah. No it's not.
Do we really think smoking is a good thing? No. So we raise taxes on it. That helps discourage it. You want maybe we should instead make it illegal? That would help national healthcare costs considerably.
I didn't know it was the policy of 7-11 to get politically involved (aside from selling bogus "support our" and "awareness" crap where the proceeds go to "charity".
Maybe someone should contact 7-11 and ask if we could post some US Out Of Iraq petitions in their stores. After all, more Americans home mean more customers buying Slurpees and chili dogs.
