WTF: WYPR Says Indiana Voters More Patriotic?
So this afternoon, I was listening to a local NPR report on WYPR about the Democratic primaries in Indiana. Bob Constantini was explaining to Frasier Smith how exit polling was showing the Indiana voters favoring Hillary Clinton. He conjectured that the Rev. Wright controversy, even though Obama has separated himself from the man, has turned off voters:
"Indiana voters tend to be more conservative. More patriotic."
What the fuck? How is that patriotic?
Yes, this pisses me off, but, pretty much standard uphill pre-concieved notion bullshit that we've encountered for so long.
Perhaps an acceptable way to phrase it might have been, "Indiana is more conservative, and puts more focus on what some consider to be shallow and easily done, yet considered, oh so important by some, actions, such as obsessive wearing of a flag pin, and putting your hand on your heart for a rendition of the National Anthem"
I'll make a deal with America, if Indiana can be "more patriotic", can we in MD be deemed, "less shallow", or "less easily duped by trinkets manufactured in China and issues that are completely irrelevant to the econonmy and security"

Reminds me of a ex-soldiers thoughts when told he wasn't patriotic cause he didn't have a yellow ribbon on his car: "Sorry, I don't support Chinese magnet companies."
