So last week, Christian pastors Terry Jones and Wayne Sapp of the Dove World Outreach Center burned the Quran, the Muslim holy book, in Florida.
The result has been outrage, protests and condemnation in the Muslim world.
In Afghanistan, protestors stormed the UN compound in Mazar-i-Sharif and killed at least 12 people, beheading 2. So far, the death toll is up to 20 people.
This event and its aftermath is illustrative of the problems of conflicting religions in free societies. As such, it'll be interesting to see how this situation resolves itself. It'll be especially interesting to see how the Christian and Muslim communities respond to the pastors and rioters respectively.
While Muslims in Afghanistan most likely don't understand the importance of free speech in a country like the United States, they also most likely don't care when it comes to their religion. After all, their holy text has been desecrated by infidels, and their holy text is pretty clear that that's a big no-no.
The offending Christian pastors are so intimidated by a competing religion, they feel they have to provoke and attack that religion by burning its holy book.
Meanwhile, at least 20 people have been slaughtered as a result.
If your god is so insecure that he tells you to burn the words of other people's religions, then you need a new god.
If your god is so insecure that he tells you to kill people if anyone should burn a book containing his words, then you need a new god.
Frankly, Muslims, there are a lot of Christian folk in the US who don't like you. And as far as religions go, ya'll have some pretty easy buttons to push (remember that whole cartoonist who drew Muhammad thing?).
And Christians, supporting our troops or our wars or whatever it is you think you're doing with this kind of Islamophobia isn't helping anyone but jerks like the Taliban.
Meanwhile, here's a story that hasn't been featured in any US news sources because it doesn't fit the "Muslims are scary" trope:

You wrote the title wrong, Muslims will kill those who will burn it. Allah is the judge. He will himself taste them the reward.

Allah will taste them? He's a cannibal? Gross.
