How many permutations of "trickle down" do we have to try before we all acknowledge that it doesn't work?

So the "job creators" won't create jobs despite having the money to do so.
We have the most profitable corporations in the history of civilization, and we can't afford firehouses.
When capitalism ceases to serve the interests of the American people, it's time to begin exploring other economic tools.
