Hampden Idol Sign-Up

Hampden's famous neighborhood arts festival, Hampdenfest, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011.

This year, Hampden Idol has returned by popular demand. The last time we had the competition was Hampdenfest 2008. And also back by popular demand (and largely out of curiosity about his new facial hair and make-up applications), Hampden Idol host Keyboard Man who last hosted the competiton in 2007 - but then, sadly moved away to Philly.

But this year, the festival's popular karaoke competition is back and it's looking for participants.

And while you will be able to sign up the day of the festival, those slots are limited. The best way to sign up is to go the Hampden Idol site, create a profile for yourself, and have friends and family vote on you.

The competitoin starts at 5PM on the Atomic Books Stage (36th St. & Falls Rd).

There are celebrity judges, and an awesome prize basket comprised of donations from Hampden merchants.

So grab that brass ring. And take your shot at becoming Hampden's next karaoke singing sensation.
