The Great Baltimore Mac-Off

Based on recent data from an informal survey The Shank recently conducted, the overwhelming answer, statistically speaking, to the question "Who has the best macaroni and cheese in Baltimore" is YOU.

Really? You think you have the best mac & cheese in Baltimore?

Okay, so time to put your mac where your mouth is and enter The Great Baltimore Mac Off at this year's Hampdenfest on Saturday, September 10.

There will be both a People's Choice Award selected by popular vote and a Critic's Award selected by judges Mary Smith (Decorator Extraordinaire at Charm City Cakes), Henry Hong (Food Writer for City Paper & Baltimore Magazine, chef at Republic Noodle), and Tom Campbell (Chef at Patchwork Catering).

The competition is open to amateur chefs, professional chefs and mac & cheese enthusiasts.

Winners get a prize basket made up of gifts from Hamdpen merchants and there will be an ad in the Baltimore City Paper declaring the winners as having Baltimore's Best mac & cheese.
