TOP 10 WEBSITES/BLOGS by Scott Sugiuchi
Scott Sugiuchi is the Managing Partner and Design Director of the design company Exit 10. He also plays bass in the cult fave garage rock outfit The Hate Bombs.
I'll admit that I have to dig up interesting sites to fill out 10 spaces on this part of the list. Most of my usual sites are either something totally boring like The Site Where I See How Much Money I Don't Have or Some Place Where I Pay My Bills. But when I'm not using the internet for Real Stuff, I get horribly distracted with the following:
1. Facebook
I'm addicted. See my status.
2. Grain Edit
See DESIGN for more.
3. Mobile Me
Despite the lame logo, I'm fully into this. It works like it's supposed to and it's just Apple-riffic!
4. fffound
How did we work before the internet? A treasure trove of visual goodness.
5. Chris Creamer's Sports Logos
Sure it has a horrible pre-00s web layout but this site is a ree-damn-diculous collection of every sports team logo ever. You want the WFL? The Mudhens? Three zillion varieties of Canadian Semi-Pro Hockey? Look no further.
6. Design Hotels
Easily the most pretentious site on the web.
7. The frightening personal gripe section on Craigslist
Not that this is new or anything but I read these and feel humanity has let me down on a massive scale. Not that I was expecting much. Sorry, humanity.
8. Gamespot
Feeds my recent exposure to the sinful pleasures of Wii and PS3.
9. Yahoo NBA Fantasy Basketball
Yes, Fantasy NBA. My wife likes to call it "Pretend Basketball." It sounds so much snarkier when she says it.
10. The App Store for iPod
Not a total "web" thing but good enough. I downloaded quite a few free-but-cool apps. Subway Shuffle is a twisted game. So simple yet so confounding. I¹m waiting for someone to find a way to rock video recording on the iPhone in the form of an app. Waiting...
