In 1978, Tru Fax & The Insaniacs became part of Washington DC's budding punk scene.
In 1980, Washington Magazine selected them as the "worst band". It should be known that the magazine evidently bestowed this honor on the band without ever hearing them, and, as you could predict, it helped to solidify their popularity in the early DC punk scene.
Years later, they played the closing show of the old 930 Club, and contributed tracks to the compilation 9:30 Live!
"Washingtron" is their biggest song, which was about life in DC. Their sound is very New Wave, along the lines of Blondie and The Waitresses.
